ABSTRACT

Ordinary Portland cement. (OPC) is most vital ingredient in concrete formation and will be versatile and comparatively expensive. Large-scale production of environment, and on the other results in depict ion of natural resources. This environmental threat has a light-emitting diode for use by
researchers and forced them to consider secondary cementations materials in the manufacturing of concrete. In this Study, the passive behavior of fly ash and silica fume concrete beams were investigated at 7 and 28 days. For this Purpose 7 varieties of concrete mixtures, fly ash and silica fumes were prepared to partially replace the cement at rate of 0% (FA+SF), 10%(50%FA+50%SF), (75%FA+25%SF), (25%FA+75%SF) and l 5%(50%FA+50%SF) , (75%FA+25%SF), (25%FA+75%SF). One prism of control mix and 6 prism were cast with modified mix of silica fume and fly ash were cured in water for 7 and 28 days to check the ultimate load and maximum deflection. It is observed that, the maximum ultimate load carried by fly ash and silica fume concrete beam is 53.09 KN and minimum deflection is l.95mm with 10% (50%FA+50%SF) as partial replacement of cement at 28 days. The material may be one of the promising construction materials.
