General note ABSTRACT<br/><br/>Websites are created to share and receive information from users. Success of the websites depends upon many factors, which are related to usability, information and processing speed. Usability deals with graphical design of a website, ease of use and user satisfaction. A good website should also contains all the information required by the user. Performance of a website depends upon the hosting server efficiency i.e. processing speed of a server or the time required by a server to reply a query of a user. Another important thing for the processing speed is the architecture of a website. A website will perform better when proper coding standards are followed and efficient size of multimedia content are used. Less efficient algorithms and database design will increase the processing required by the server to response the users request. Efficient search engine optimization (SEO) techniques are also important for the success of a website. Majority of work is done on the usability of websites.<br/>In this research a comparative analysis is done on the basis of performance and SEO analysis of higher education websites belong to Pakistan and other countries. from this research it is found that the websites of Pakistan are weak in SEO & page loading time.
