| General note | ABSTRACT<br/><br/>Software testing is important for development of high quality software.Software testing is of key providing quality software by identifying bug , debugging code and eliminate the errors which cause failure in software development. Despite of its importance, students arc not provided sufficient software testing education at university undergraduate and postgraduate level to start software testing professional work in companies. Software industries usually focus on software development life cycle and require skilled people to perform software testing before software deployment, therefore universities must give attention to software testing courses at undergraduate as well as post graduate software testing discipline. Through literature review we analyze different student software testing education problems such as mostly students taking software testing course have no industrial experience they only focus on small projects rather than on real projects, students found software testing course hard to understand and boring due to a lot of bugs occur, maxim um time consume for little code, lack of low skill to test their own code, lack of practical experience in class, lack of sufficient time period to cover course.<br/>Therefore to address the software testing education problems this research provide a solution as software testing methodology which is based on three main parts such as teaching, learning and assessment with support of blended learning method, software testing education tools, software testing education games, software testing student grading tools for instructors, social interaction tools between teacher and student. A software testing methodology evaluated from teachers of software testing course as experts view through an online questionnaire survey. From questionnaire results it is observed that software testing methodology can address identified software testing education problems, software testing methodology elements are fully relevant with software testing course contents, software testing methodology elements are helpful and effective for students and teachers of software testing course, also experts suggested that a software testing methodology should be implemented as part of software testing course in higher education institutes of Pakistan <br/> |
