General note ABSTARCT<br/>Practical implementations of different types of controllers for the speed control of<br/>DC shunt motor in detail. control techniques of motor speed are studied and<br/>observed under variable load conditions with following controllers:<br/>Single phase half wave simple motor control<br/>Single phase full wave simple motor control<br/>Closed loop proportional control<br/>Proportional control with Armature voltage feedback<br/>Proportional control with IR compensation control<br/>Proportional integral control<br/>MATLAB/SIMULINK model of PI control for the speed control of DC motor<br/>MATLAB/SIMULINK model of PID control for the speed control of DC motor<br/>PI controllers prove as suitable candidate amongst all these controllers PI controller<br/>is selected for software simulation and their accuracy is compared '*ith hardware<br/>model. PID is considered as most suitable controller in the industrial world.<br/>Therefore PID is suggested in this project and is verified as most suitable controller<br/>for speed control of DC shunt motor.<br/>
