General note ABSTRACT

Power electronic is defined as the application of solid-state electronics for the control and conversion of electric power. Power electronics converters which are nonlinear devices arc the main cause of harmonic generation. When these non-linear devices are connected the supply network they do not draw a sinusoidal current from the supply but the cu rrent contains a variety y of harmonks these harmonics could destroy cenain sensit ive equipment connected to the grid could cause them lo mall function.
Converters arc power processing consist of passive components and circu it topology changes as these power electroruc switches vary as a function of t ime under I.he influence of the controller therefore ii is very d ifficu l t Lo analyze circu it states in a close form as a function of time but with the help of computer simulation it becomes possible and easier to develop theses circu it models.
The laboratory based power rectifier conveners are studied and invest igated i n detrul in order to achieve the results with their rea l data. All the parameters obtained from these results have been used to develop the software models and to compare their accuracy with laboratory models. Finall y. the harmonics generated by the power converters have been studied and conclud ed sing GUJ FFf tool of Sim Power Systems. The perfonnance with accuracy, simplicity and economy is the main advantage of this project which is investigated and verified with it results as satisfactory.
