ABSTRACT

It has been widely accepted that in concrete industry different techn iq ue have been adopted for the best performance of concrete and these techniques are widely y used in modern period of the construction industry. considerable research has been carried out to reduce the burden over the concrete for being most abundant building material used, for this several types of concrete have been introduced depending upon their qualities and usage. self-compacting concrete is one of the types of the concrete. This type of concrete settles/ compacts in the formwork under its self-weight without
compaction effort. It is able to fill reinforcement spaces and voids. Furthermore, it is added that by adopting various techniques in sec many by products such as various minerals, industrial and agricultural by-products/minerals have been used in order to
reduce the cost also. In order to address the brittle behaviour of concrete, fibers are used. this experimental study is also based on to investigate the use of Beverage Bottles as a fibre in SCC. In this study fibres of 3mm to 5mm width and 25mm and 12mm length have been utilized by cutting the soft drink bottles as 0.1%, .0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4% and 0.5% of ·the concrete. the fresh and hardened parameters of Conventional SCC and Fibre Reinforced SCC were analyzed during this study. In fresh parameters (slump flow test, slump flow time Tsocm, V-funnel, J-Ring and L Box tests were perform ed. In hardened state Compressive strength and tensile strength were checked at 28 days curing and also other parameter of unit weight was also checked. The results showed that all the fresh properties are within the range of standard valued of SCC as per EFNARC 2002 and the hardened properties are enhanced.
Keywords: Nominal Concrete, FRSCC, Tensile strength, Compressive	trength. Fresh and Hardened Properties.
