  <note>ABSTRACT

Usage of coal has been reduced in third world countries due to after effects to natural environment. In Pakistan it is turning to be prime source of energy and when coal is burnt it produce fly ash. Fly Ash is raw product or it is called waste which is generated from the coal power plant after burning of coal. Fly ash is an environmental hazard because it may cause air pollution and land pollution as its handling is difficult. In this research study, fly ash was used as a ratio material to replace cement and make environment friendly material for building construction purpose at very low price.
Currently cement is important element of construction industry. The cement industry is considered as an environment polluting industry. Currently 28 cement industries arc operating in Pakistan and the number is rapidly increasing. The material contains lime, sand, marble powder, and gypsum this production of block is found of equivalent strength to cement block. This block has low weight and good strength while comparing cement blocks. This research study is also comparable study of different types of fly ash used and have ability to replace cement. Three fly ash samples have been used in this study with local coal fly ash and imported coal fly ash has also been involved. The fly ash which was considered for this study obtained from Lakhra Coal Power Plant Port Qasim Coal Power Plant and HUBCO Coal Power Plant. From the obtained results it was observed that C-type fly ash has maximum compressive strength with 5124 psi while Lakhra fly ash has low compressive strength of 2800 psi and C-type fly ash has 3500 compressive strength after six months. While cement has 5500 psi compressive strength. On the basis of results it may be concluded that fly ash has an adequate potential to be used these as productive material in future.
