  <note>ABSTRACT

Vehicular Ad-hoc Network was introduced in 2001 and it is used for providing communicate ion facility among the intelligent vehicles for safe and efficient road journey. Day by day the VAN ET has been arising as an emerging technology which is attracting both the industry and academia for taking a lot of interest i n the research area. The peoples are enjoying the wireless communication among the vehicles and road side units with value-added services also; however all these attractive features will increase the authentication and privacy issues i n the VANET technology. Thus, many of the researcher have find out the solution in shape of Pseudonym changing approaches but the development of effective Pseudonym changing scheme is still an open issue. In this research, we have developed a light weight pseudonym and proposed an efficient Pseudonym changing scheme which will helpful for privacy preserving communication in VAN ET, so that it will increase the confidence of users to communicate without any fear of being tracked or occurrence of something unwanted. The implementation results show that our proposed scheme satisfies the evaluation criteria.
