The fundamental properties of concrete mixture dependant on many parameters such as the type of cement being used, coarse aggregate and interface amongst aggregate and mortar. The gradation of coarse aggregate has a specific and significant effect on fundamental characteristics of concrete like uni t weight, workability, strength of concrete etc. The major aspect of this work is to study effect of coarse aggregate gradation upon fundamental concrete characteristics with fly ash the unit weight. Slump Test. Splitting tensile strength and compressive strength of mixes with CA gradation 4.75-7 mm, 7- 10 mm, 1O-l 3mm and 13-20 mm were determined. Experimentation concluded that unit weight, compressive strength and splitting tensile strength of FAC (7-10 mm) is more as compared to FAC (4.75-7mm), FAC (10-13mm) and FAC (13-20 mm).Slump value of FAC(13-20mm) is slightly more as compared to FAC(4.75 mm) FAC (7-10 mm) and FAC (I 0-13 mm). In this study the maximum unit weight, split tensile strength and compressive strength of fly ash concrete with coarse aggregate grading 7-10 mm are obtained. This category or fly ash concrete may be preferred in construction. Since coarse aggregate grading affect the properties of concrete with fly ash significantly. so careful attention must be paid to the sorting of coarse aggregates while producing fly ash concrete. This study proves that coarse aggregate gradation has substantial effect on unit weight splitting tensile and compressive strength of Fly ash concrete. aDepartment of Civil Engineering uhttp://tinyurl.com/7pz267mh
