The world is looking at the possible use or advance materials in almost all the fields of engineering nowadays. The same trend is observed 10 enhance the properties of construction materials i n the discipline of construction engineering. Coal Bottom Ash
mostly generated by coal power plants needs areas in hectare for its proper dumping. It has been studied that CBA is being dumped into useful land including agricultural land, forest land and natural water reservoirs that causes the environmental pollution. CBA can be used as an alternative material for sand 10 produce sustainable concrete and mortar This research study is based on the experimental work to use CBA as a sand replacement for concrete. The CBA was incorporated in concrete as a partial replacement of fine aggregate. The replacement level starts from 0 to 30% by total weight of sand with an increment of 5% keeping water to cement ratio of 0.50. Al I 0% CBA, the workability of the concrete mix is 20 mm which falls within the range of workability designed mix. Concrete mix produced with 10% CBA, is found to ha\'e lite density of 2365 kg/m3 which is in the range of unit weight of normal concrete. Compressive strength and splitting tensile strength at 10% replacement of line aggregate with CBA round to be almost same as that of control mix of concrete.
