There was a limited number of offices and inadequate quantity of officers/oflicials. With the pa sage of time, responsibilities were increased and masses demanded fast ser ice. Slowly and gradually Postal were replaced with urgent mailing service. Fast transportation services replaced the outdated Railway system. In those days even there was no concept base of Information Technology in the country. Initially concept of computerization in Pakistan was started early in 1957, by a company called 'Packages Ltd." Then after commercial banks, universities and PIA acquired computers to regulate their office work. When custom duties were lifted from computers and growth of computer was experienced in early 90's. The purpose of each and every department of the government is to serve people, facilitate them regarding their issues and solve their problems at the earliest. At the moment, the world becomes global nest due to internet unfortunately ; the concept does not seem working especially in the Ministry of Information Technology who has been failed to perform its duties at their minimum best in Pakistan. Youth ; is considered to be the backbone of socio economic society both in developed as well as developing countries. The fate of young Generation gives a big question mark when they see the realm of retired bureaucrats everywhere. Time needs the revamping of IT Departments, to encourage the Public Private Partnership methodology and to introduce online submission and assessment of exam copies of BISE. lf the IT department is made operational in its true spirit, the performance of Government offices would ultimately enhance. aDepartment of Information Technology uhttp://tinyurl.com/33ndmwnm
