This report through of its beginning study of major sugar plan identify the key areas where electrical can possibly be saved. This report opens up new vista of saving energy in sugar industry. Induction motors being major energy consumer in the plant offers opportunities of energy saving. In the plant man induction motors are in house rewound . This thesis reports the analysis done on the rewound induction motors for its efficiency. Practical comparisons between rewound motors and new motors are shown. It is found that rewound motors, if places by new ones have a payback period in the range of one year to as more as six month. Sugar factory and one of being the most energy demanding process well holed promised to provide electricity. This report by the study from its inception sugar cane plan identifies the key areas that can be electric may be saved. This report opens up new avenues for energy saving in _the sugar industry. Induction motors being the main consumer of energy in the plant provides energy-saving opportunities.
