First an analog test signal is generated and converted into digital and modulated with 16 QAM by gray code mapping. Through Split step technique the signal is propagated in the optical fiber link. After 15 Km travel of signal through simulation the chromatic dispersion is noticed. To reduces this dispersion the signal is converted in electrical form at end of optical fiber link. Digital Signal Processing techniques (LMS and FFT algorithm, window) are applied on dispersed signal to reduces the Chromatic dispersion. Pulse shaping filter (raised cosine filter) is used which improves the shape of signal. Finally Bit Error Rate and Eye Diagram are compared before and after the induction of chromatic dispersion into test signal while travelling in to a fiber optic communication system. Entire work is performed in Matlab environment and Graphical user Interface is designed in MS visual studio. The CD is reduced electronically so it will save the requirement of hardware and change of optical fiber in comparison to another available method of reduction in chromatic dispersion which is Dispersion Compensation Fiber (DCF) UR - https://tinyurl.com/5fedx6t3 ER -
