    <subfield code="a">ABSTRACT

As the IT infrastructure is growing up, every organization is attempting to provide
various online services to their employees and other potential users. Organizations
try their best to provide timely information to their users through web applications in
order to meet with the competent environment. It is observed that as the users of a
particular web application exceed the limits then the applications do not respond.
efficiently and the users face delays in order to get the particular service. In the peak
load conditions, the web applications do not respond well and if that load goes well.
above the expected maximum then the application goes under stress and hence
provides poor quality of service (QoS)Various performance testing tools are used to
test the performance of the web applications. In this research, two performance
testing tools are selected and their performance is compared. Apache JMeter and
Microsoft web application stress tool are compared in this research. Moreover, five
web sites of public sector universities of Sindh are selected to measure their
performance through the said performance testing tools. The results of this research
are promising and are use all for the concerned IT staff and people who use these
web applications.
