However. like other networks, primary source of data communication are protocols. The MAC (Medium Access Control) protocol determines when a wireless sensor transmits its sensor data. However, MAC protocols suffer from collisions and therefore it affects the eminency of wireless sensor networks. Therefore, efforts must be taken at MAC layer for improving the overall efficiency of the network. Ahis thesis provides a model of the LMAC (Lightweight- MAC) protocol for analyzing the probability of collisions for sensor nodes. Collisions occur hen nodes transmit data at same time using the same channels. In this work, we consider connected topologies consisting of five nodes. Ihe analysis is performed using the model checker UPPAAL. The results show that if the weighting rate of nodes (before transmitting data), is increased then the number of collisions also decreases. Furthermore, we also compare the results of five nodes with its 5.6. and 7 times slots based on the probability of collisions and propose an optimistic choice ofa network set-up that increases network performance and reduces network cost. aDepartment Of Computer System Engineering uhttps://tinyurl.com/mr28zevv
