The concrete structural elements commonly deteriorate due to the development of cracking and palling of concrete due to various reasons. In building engineering, the repair and rehabilitation of reinforced concrete structures facing deterioration has gained widespread acceptance. The repair of the cracks ensures the safety of the structure’s up to the intended service life. Various methods and materials are in use to repair these cracks, among these, grouting g is considered to be efficient and user friendly technique. Resin is the type of the polymers being used as advanced materials with different types of filler such as and, GGBFS etc. to produce grouts for repair, strengthening and rehabilitation. Epoxy and polyester resin are the two common types of resin. Titis experimental study is undertaken to investigate the suitability of resin grout with marble dust as filler in combination with sand, exposed to differen1 environmental conditions and ages. The
grout proportions (Resin: filler) considered during this study are; I:I and I:2. Sand is used as filler traditionally in the production of grouts. During this study Marble dust is also used as filler by replacing sand 0%, 50%, and 100% by weight. A total number of 460 specimens of standard size were cast and tested. The suitability of resin grout is studied in terms of compressive strength development and durability. For strength development the specimen were tested at 1, 14, 28, 60, and 91 days. The durability of resin grout is studied by exposing the specimen lo four different environmental.
Conditions: wet, dry-wet, natural environment (open to sky) and buried in local soil. The
result showed the marginal effect of age on the strength properties of resin grout. Resin
exhibited pronounced durability in almost all the exposed conditions with slight condition particularly at later ages. The marble dust is emerged as is a wastage material of marble industry and can be prospective substitute of sand.
